Student Housing & Accommodation
We strive to place new residents in a residence on the campus in which they study. Returning students we attempt to place where they wish to reside. However, this is not always possible due to space limitations.
New students will apply through the Nelson Mandela University Central Admissions Office; Returning students will apply on line via the student portal.

We strive to place students on the campus where they will attend most of their lectures. Students doing diploma or certificate programmes would mostly be accommodated on North and Second Avenue Campus i.e. Lebombo Residence (females), Letaba Residence (males). Oceana Residence on Second Avenue have facilities for both males and females and where appropriate student would be placed on George Campus
We strive to place all first year students in the appropriate residence closest to where they would attend most their lectures. Degree programme students would therefore be accommodated mostly on South Campus i.e. Melodi Residence (females) and Xanadu Residence (males) and where appropriate at George Campus
Nelson Mandela University have 24 hour security on campus, but unfortunately occasional incidents of theft do take place if students are careless.
