At Nelson Mandela University, we want students to thrive not just academically but in all aspects of their lives. That's why we've set up programs that help students grow personally, feel like they belong, and stay healthy, both physically and emotionally. We also aim to boost leadership skills and get students ready for great job opportunities after graduation.
We do this by forming smaller groups within the residences where students live. These groups are like mini communities that focus on different things like personal growth, getting involved, being lively, sports, reaching out to others, and becoming leaders.
Students are encouraged to join in activities and programs that let them learn in practical ways and explore their interests.
The perks for students and the university are pretty cool too. Students get to learn how to lead better, understand and appreciate different cultures, do volunteer work, get better at talking to others, get set for future jobs, understand themselves, respect others, and feel like they're part of something bigge.
